Hi everyone! I'm also from SE Minnesota, about an hour south of the Twin Cities. I have 31 chickens - menagerie of Buff Orpingtons, Black Australorps, Speckled Sussex, Silver-Laced Wyandottes, BBS Cochin bantams, Easter Eggers, and Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas. They are all about 3 months old and I LOVE them!

It's wonderful to know there are so many other members from SE Minnesota!

You must be pretty close to me then!! I'm near Oronoco. I just hatched (for the first time) on July 1st, 5 Blue/Wheaton ameraucanas and 4 French Black Copper Marans !!!

It was so fun and exciting.
My teenage chicks got to go outside for the first time today. They are standing like statues,LOL. They don't know what to think.

Nice to see someone else nearby that is into chickens !

grammypam - I'm only about 40 minutes north of you, near Cannon! That's so exciting that you had your first hatch! I've never hatched any myself, but I'm toying with asking for an incubator for Christmas. Maybe that will be too dangerous, though.

Keep me in mind if you end up with any extra Blue Wheaten or Black Copper roos!

It seems there are a lot of BYCers in the Southern suburbs, but not too many northern suburbs. Anyone in the NW suburbs out there?
I'm in Rogers and would love to find some fellow chicken lovers in my area.
