Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I have a year old flock of 3 hens( Australorp, Orpington and white rock). They are the best, this entire winter they have all been producing an egg a day! We decided to expand our flock and I went to anoka ramsey farm and garden center and picked up a red sexlink, RIR, speckled Sussex, Dominique and gold laced wyandotte!
Hope everyone survived the storm! We got about 8" here!

New Here!!! Live in Southeast Minnesota near Lake City. First year doing the chicken thing and am about 1/2 way done with my 4x8 coop. Only want to do 6-8 laying hens, but everywhere seems to want me to order 15+ Birds! Don't know anyone else in the hobby so haven't been able to find someone to split an order with. Does anyone here in MN sell chicks? I'm willing to drive to pick them up. What else should/do I need to know about raising chickens in MN!?

I think all of us hatch chicks here but not all of them sell them. I sell chicks if u want but none of us sell sexed chicks. PM me if interested and I will tell u what I have...

Welcome. Your aren't far from me, so it is nice to hear from a local chicken fan. I am near Owatonna.

Check on Craigslist and search for chicks, pullets, or hens you can find all kinds of birds for sale around here, including young hens that are already starting to lay for about $10 a bird I have seen.
