Minnesota!

*hands out paddles*

I finally got so cheesed off at the rain that I went out and weeded flower beds on Sunday regardless. I got quite damp but the weeding was accomplished...with no help from the cats, one of whom insisted on sitting ON my back and another who wanted to sit on my lap while I was kneeling down.

The two smart cats stayed in the house and slept on the couch.

So the sun finally comes out and it stops raining, and it's only 60 degrees? Oh well, I'll gladly take it verses the nasty weather we've been having. Looks like this holiday coming up is going to be a wet one. Hoping it will only be rain on our outings and nothing worse. Wishing everyone a very Happy Memorial Day weekend!

I'm not sure we made it out of the 40s today next the Big IceCube (aka Lake Superior). Had to mow the lawn with my winter coat, hat and gloves - should have also had snowboots on too because my feet got awfully cold. Not happy about the big freeze expected tonight because many of my fruit plants have beautiful blossoms right now. Guess we can't order the weather.

I just joined this forum tonight but have been browsing this site for years! My husband finally agreed to let me bring home chickens this spring! My kids and I picked them up from a farm about 10 days ago and are loving it!

My hubby wasn't too fond of the idea but he is getting a kick out of them. Unfortunately we have one that seems sick already (very lethargic and not really eating). This just started yesterday afternoon and we are all new to chickens so we are trying to figure out how to help her. Any suggestions would be great.

We own 3 Red Star Hens, have 7 kids under the age of 12 and live in the southern suburbs (about 15 minutes south of the Mall of America).
