Minnesota!

YES!! Thanks,

I will have you over for coffee from my new machine!!

I am kind of experienced in TIP, I use to buy my brother's xmas presents with TIP money. He was never that excited about, I always brought them to him in the jail on Xmas day, I have no idea what his problem was.

Did someone on here have a fly problem?? If so u need to find some Muscovys!! I was watching them and they r fly catching machines!!

My Pekin drake is a little confused. He has started protecting his wife who is broody now. He also is protecting my broody banty hen. She squawked cuz a muscovy came and nipped her in the butt and he chased that musvovy all over. He even. He even has vhased the Cochin roo away when he breeds the banty!! And u know how Cochins r they r anti violence I have learned unless there is a pesky turkey trying to fight them. Pinky the drake might be a little confused on who to protect. He stands guard all day.

Holm your chick is adorable!

Ralphie how many cx are you planning on keeping for breeding? (you are right?) Are you going to raise them separate from the others?

Well after this predator bs going through this raccoons days are numbered and I am even considering feeding her back to the clucks for revenge  Lost :he all my babies save 5, a turkey and a roo who valiantly beat her butt. . I will let my flock shrink but be warned.. I'll be contacting this thread to repopulate my girls. I don't think I can do with out my chicken drama. In which case I'll be looking for some pretty girls. You know marans, wellies, buffs but really wanting colored orps. And definatly looking to get my hands on some of minnie's buckeyes. At least shrinking the flock will give time to relandscape their paradise. :barnie

Rhett, I am thing 5 hens and 2 roosters over the winter.

I feed all mine the same, I starve them. They get free will feeding for a couple days (22 % protein). then I will feed them 20 minutes twice a day. I will give them grit then and throw a little scratch on the floor and I mean little.

I have one bag of 22% protein, then 2 bags of 18% and down to 15%. By the time I hit the 15% I hope to have them outside in tractors/brooders. I will free range them a few hours at a time to start, then all day by 3 weeks. (under supervision, as hawks and eagles love CX meatballs.)

They have a camp day reserved for them on Oct 9th. I should have most roosters over 10 lbs dressed by then. I would like to get a 15lbs dressed bird....but I doubt I will do that in 13 weeks. I will pick the winners of the "Christmas snow Tour" on that day. Unless I become attached to one, but I doubt that will happen.
