Although buttermilk sounds good. I would put some butter in between the skin and the meat with some fresh garlic so it could baste as it cooks. Onion powder, sea salt, black pepper and just a little tiny cayenne sprinkled on the top. Then some paprika for color. When having a bird as wonderful as I think yours must be, I would take the opportunity to stuff it with a onion, sage and garlic stuffing mix. Don't like stuffing? Just stuff it with large pieces of onion and some garlic for extra flavor.![]()

That's funny! I always thought they called them a turken cause they were half turkey, half chicken!No. I have never heard of it happening, and Cluckies suggestion of "Turken" is because those chickens have the appearance of a turkey with the naked neck but they are indeed, chickens. LOL That is funny though.
