It is sooo hot. Still 84 in the co-op. Couldn't find the hardware cloth door so had to shut the co-op door and there is no breeze. Still 84 in the house too. Poor girls all panting and holding wings out. The fan is so covered in chicken dust that I was afraid to let it run all night....

Right? I got home from work to find almost 3 gallons of water gone... Must have leaked.

I use a combination of Utorrent and HMA. I can get anything.

I have no clue what you have there. Never heard of them. I was successful in figuring out what utorrent was but not the HMA.
You would be so proud of us moving up in the world of technology. We bought our very first blu-ray player and our very first flat screen t.v. Now all I need to figure out is what kind of device to buy that would give me internet when I am away so I can look things up (besides BYC). I am so out of the loop I involved the step kids to suggest something. They think an ipad. Does that sound about right?

I know it is for the best, BUT I really miss the little guy this morning. He is the sweetest poult I have had hatched all year. I was ready to have my DW make a turkey Diaper for him so he could spend the winter indoors with us..

My turkeys all get lots of attention, most more than they want. I know this will be hard to believe, but I have very spoiled birds. Even my CX's are spoiled.

The only one not spoiled is Cookies Dad, he refuses to let me pick him up.


BTW my day is not going to be good either, I have to go to suburbia and spend the day with City folks.....gag me with a spoon!

Ralphie, you are a bigger man than me, i'd a put a diaper on that turkey for sure! (but i'm sure she'll love the compay of the peachick).
Holy hot hot hot. Went to Menards last night to try and find 60 straight 2x4's, I was drenched. Not fit for man nor beast. Won't be working outside today. Poor chickens were so hot last night. had all three of their fans going, the two over their roost I had pointed straight down on them. No breeze to speak of. Hopefully all of our birds make it through today.

I worry contantly when it is this hot. Almost brought Cluck-Cluck (BO) in last night, her comb was a pale pink, but she was already asleep on the roost, so I left her. she was alive this morning so she must have cooled off with the fans. I also have to keep a close eye on Mother (SLW) as she is huge, doesn't take heat very well either. I don't know why she is so fat, she gets the same food as the rest, but is way heavier. I'm not sure how you put one chicken on a diet...
Well try and stay cool today everyone. I've got a 1 gallon jug filled with ice already in their water, will trade it out with the one in the freezer about 3.
I'll probably be on here all day on and off, not going out there for any length of time!

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year and today is on pace to beat it. At least there seems to be a breeze. I erected lots of ramshackle piles of junk so the birds can all find shade and still get a breeze.

Stay cool everyone! I'm off to sconie land for a wedding. The uptick of going to that dark place is that i can bring back some new glarus beer!

I don't get I-anything. You can get a tablet with an Android OS way cheaper. Plus with anything that isn't mac, is way more versatile in many ways. Mac wants more and more money and they have many things set up so they get it. Like a monopoly. Android is shareware.
