Minnesota!

I will take lots of pictures for you Rhetts. When you do go let me know!!
I sure will! Can't wait to 'see' what the fair is like with your pictures. Blanch-do you always cook dinner? Your DW sure is lucky! Sounds like you make some good food down your way.

For supper we had goulosh. (spelling?) you know elbow noodles and a spicy tomato/hamburger kind of sauce. Not spaghetti sauce.

I've not run out of ovations today, and i've given plenty, probably 10 or better. But I've run out on other days when I've only given maybe 3 or 4? maybe it is a random thing...

I'm getting pretty upset. We are trying to work on my run, but it is either too dang hot (this weekend), or raining when i'm at home, but of course, it is absolutely lovely when I'm at work, or otherwise tied up.

That's all I got to say about that.
What are these OVATIONS???

For us, dinner tonight was a plate full of homegrown. Jamaican Jerk chicken (our chickens), roasted potatoes i dug tongiht, and sweet corn that was only off the stalk < 5 minutes before it was in the water to cook... mmmmmmm

I dug 1 of 4 rows of potatoes and ended up with about 35 lbs yummm. Ive got them laid out to dry in the basement but i couldnt help but steal a few for dinner.

Other monumentus news of the night....

I was working on some fencing in one of our coops and watched Big Buck uh... 'do his thing'... 5 times in about 10 minutes. Somebody get that guy an award or something... dang!

Then when i went out for lockdown i was so excited to see all 11 of my pullets on the roosts! I have been lifting them all up there for several days now trying to teach them. They have been trying to sleep in the nest boxes and it just wont do. That should make lockdown chores much quicker from now on.

So I was pricing out the roos on craigslist. They range from free to $25 each for show birds. Most of the ads are asking $5 to $10 each. Wow. I had no idea they were so cheap. So basically I won't even be able to give them away. Craigslist is saturated with chickens. Bogtown it looks like you were giving sound advice. I just am sick and tired of feeding them already.
It's sort of a crying shame really to me. That they are so cheap or dispensible. They are the prettiest birds usually in the yard. Usually the most personality. They give all their choice food to the hens. If they're hand raised by yourself then you know the time and energy you put into them and beautiful food they've eaten. And to give them away or find their value near 0 just doesn't seem right IMHO. Just because they don't lay eggs. LOL. I hear you Rhetts. I think you ought to just enjoy them as a family whether by tolerating them, rehoming to a friend who needs one or as a meal on the table. You've earned it, I'm certain.

Goulosh was always a fave at home. I don't make it but my Mom still does once in a while. My kids love it. I wonder why I don't make it...Hmmmm.

Blanch Ranch. Not a huge Garrison Keiller person here either. I think because he always was a city person. Not many out-state folks listen to MPR. He did make one joke I heard though that I thought was kind of cute:
"How do you know a Norwegian likes you?" - - - - - - - -> "He looks at YOUR shoes."

There's redneck like cyrus and ralphie. There's some that are like me with stuffed critters in the house but a cleaned up yard. And there's some like this which may be leaning toward Cyrus and Ralphie again. Just sayin'.

Speaking of Norwegians, a guy I work with went Up Nort' I think they went on to Nort Dakota, anywhoo, they ended up at some Swedish shop somewhere up there. He walked in and the lady behind the couter says "Your not Swedish, your Norwegian, I can tell by the slope of your forehead" Hahahaha Just kidding, she actually said "I can tell by your forehead" but me and the other Swede at work changed it a bit
