Minnesota!

Thank you im glad to have found this. I have 2 ducks that I got a couple weeks ago because they had been attacked by a puppy. 1 of them had its nose all clogged up with mucous, but its been cleared up for about a week. Is it safe to add them to my flock of chickens?

Figured I should make a list of what I'm looking for to

I have silkies and showgirl chicks for sale a well as a few older birds.

I got 5 day old buff orpington pullets yesterday. I hope they are as broody as all the websites ive looked at say they are. I also hope they aren't so docile though, my other hens can be pretty mean to eachother

Congratulations on your new chicks. Try and not mix them until they are about the same size and so it at night. This should help with the fighting and the pecking order.

I only have the 1 coop and I cant keep them in a tote for 4 months. My chickens are free range. Would it be better to introduce them during the day when they have lots of room and stay close? I have a large dog crate for until they are about half grown.

Four months?! Who said 4 months? How old are your ducks? You said earlier you got them a couple of weeks ago but how old are they? As soon as they have their feathers they can go in your coop with your chickens. Last year we had sucess introducing our ducks and chickens at night. While the chickens slept we put the ducks out in the coop.

I thought you were talking about my new chicks, lol. My ducks are about a year old, my neighbor gave them to me after her dog attacked them. I introduced them to the chickens yesterday. But they haven't spent the night in the coop yet. They've been in a heated building for 3 weeks so aren't used to the cold yet.
