Minnesota!

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it. I am looking foward to coming but i will for sure let you know on friday. I want to maybe pick up a pair or two of serama and or bantams. Do you think they'll have serama's there at the auction?

RobertYang, I am going to the auction ans will be theri most of the day. I walk with two canes, one black and one brown. Hope to see your thier.

no I didn't take that picture. Its off of google images. My time with him lasted about 30 seconds armed only with my Kemp's Chicken scratch ice cream Bucket. :)

I haven't seen signs of him now the last few mornings that we've been back. ( before there were holes in the hay as he looked for mice in the run I'm sure) the ruin of his den with a stick and our other aversion attempt might have sent him packing for a bit. I think now too my roo might have tangled with him several days earlier. As an after thought I remember seeing fresh blood on my roosters leg. At the time ithought it was just a battle w other roo but now I'm thinking Roger got acquainted with his resident ermine.

Hello Bogtown chick,
Just wondering if your going to the Pierz Auction today? If so I will be wearing a brown hoody with two canes, one black and one brown. Due to the weather I will be leaving my service dog home.

Sorry triplell: We had family up from Minneapolis over the Easter Holiday Weekend. One day one of these poultry shows will get in my playbook. It's been a busy spring already. Looking forward to more melting days coming up! We still have about a foot or more of snow yet on the ground to go yet, aside of the big plow push piles. How did you do at the Auction? Were you selling or buying?

Sorry you couldn't come. It is alway's nice to see family. I was selling 26 birds, 6 (all of them) geese, 15 roosters, 4 hens, 3 ducks. I did pretty good, then I bought 21 runner ducklings. I was hoping to get some of the Cochins but the price went too high for me. One pair went for $60.00 and the coloring wasn't even unitform. I did see bantiesrule there so we got to meet, it was nice to be able to put a face to the name.

That's the thing about Auctions more often then not. Is the price gets way up before people come to their senses. Crazy. In the moment or something. $60 for a pair! wow. I'm no expert. But it sounds high to me! I wish I had bigger accommodations to get more fowl sometimes, but if I'm honest with myself what I have is plenty... and keeps me busy enough.

Just wondering what chicks were bringing at the sale. Thanks

There wasn't too many LF chicks but lots of bantoms. They were going for roughly $5-8 per chick. They had lots of ducklings and they were going for $3-7 per duckling. I was able to get some runners for $3.00 each. I bought two boxes of 12. I took 26 birds and brought home 22. Not very good but I am sure their will be many drakes.

Wow! I should have brought some birds to that auction. I remember like 15 years ago guineas went for $25 a pair there and I just couldn't believe it. Mostly because my guinea population had gotten so out of hand that I had someone come round up all 100+ of them and take them for free.

BBP -
Do you have any Call ducklings? If so, what varieties?

As for that $60 for a pair, the price wouldn't be high if they were of show quality. If the color was off though, that would be something to consider. What color were they?
