Minnesota!

I believe it WAS on Saturday. I will see if I can track down some dates though. I don't think there has been much offered this year since the weather has made such a huge dent in hatching so far.

winter is almost over!

THe alpha rooster has suddenly taken a strong dislike to the 3 sulmtalers, chasing them off the food - so they have been forced to hang out on the roosts instead of outside in the warm sun.

this is one of the sulmtalers, very very fluffy even more so than orpingtons:

So, I did what I didn't want to do, took the 3 sulmtalers and popped them into a spare coop with the junior rooster. He was pretty sweet, cooing to them and trying to entice them into the nest box.

this spare coop is my old starter coop from years and years ago, I've moved it 3 times. When I got new chicks last spring, I thought I might need it and moved it up by the current coop and repainted it. Good thing it was ready! All I had to do was shovel it out:

no electricity, so it will be fun keeping them in fresh water. But I couldn't believe how much calmer the main flock was without these hens trying to stay out of the roosters way, and of course, the jr. rooster not being chased by Buster.

peace at a price!

keeping my fingers crossed March is kind to us.

I found it!! Look the run is still there! I was finally able to shovel all the snow away & lay a board in the run so the girls will have dry ground. My flock was just as happy to stay inside all winter even though the door to the run has been open almost always.

Aussiegal are those alpacas?!?! I would so love to get me some alpacas but I know nothing about them. Would you mind if I asked you millions of questions? (Ohhhh you are going to get so sick of me...) :D
