They are nice looking and I like to eat duck, if they just did not poop like a goose and weren't so dirty!

I don't have a pace for them either, now if I had a pond.. I have thought about getting some for my cabin and let them take there chances, BUT I think a Togo wolf would snatch them in the first day or two.

Us old people never change our minds!

Here is my newest "pen" awaiting a pair of Cochins. With this pen I have chickens in 6 out of 8 buildings on the farmstead! My wife will be duly impressed......

I hope they are smart chickens and can learn to drink from a chicken drinking cup. I like them and they are all I will use this (coming) winter, I hope.

Ralphie, I am guessing that Judy will be impressed but not necessarily in the way you might hope? Will you have your laptop when on your trip? You may not be fully up to speed of the trials and tribulations on the farmstead, but I would wager that you could find some lines to entertain us with in any case.
How about the escapades of a free range chicken keeper on sabbatical ?

Hops need full sun. My husband is growing them on huge poles out in the pasture. They need a lot of space to grow. I'm actually afraid the chickens will ruin the plants!

I've got wires over the run for the vines to run on, they can grow to 25+ feet, and the hops flowers are good for chickens digestive system.
