Does anyone have turkey HENS for sale. We r having a bit of a problem. Our tom was breeding a tiny barred rock. We have been searching for hens but know luck. Thanks

Well, those 2 light kittens will be pointed and it takes 2 Himalayan genes (1 from mom and 1 from dad) to make pointed kittens. The Himalayan gene which is what gives Siamese those pointed colours, is very recessive. Both those parents could be carrying it. Well, actually ARE carrying it. Some where in each of their pasts, there was a Siamese that got involved.

Well, folks. It is clear that 5/8 of the sexed pullets I purchased are Roosters. I'm pretending otherwise, but the red combs and wattles at 5 weeks of age are staring me in the face. Plus, one tried to crow already. It was rather.....cute! So, out of 21 chicks, 11 are Roosters so far *sigh* Time to rehome some more and contemplate buying a few more. Keeping my fingers crossed for the rest!

On a better note, I'm finishing up the vents in the coop today and am going to paint the inside and hopefully get the tiling on the floor. If I'm super ambitious, I'll get the roosts done. It took me much longer than I thought to move the shed and get it sealed up. That beast was nearly impossible to move and turn. Must get done by Winter LOL

And all Chicks have done well with the "Great Merge". They're still establishing a pecking order, but so far so good. I just keep an eye on them and keep them busy.

A few updated coop pics:

Have a beautiful MN day everyone!!!!!
