Minnesota!

My last week in review. Gill's comb is starting to look pretty respectable, I shot another coon and it was a 30lbs sow, and my biggest SLW went broody yesterday in the same nest box as my smallest little bantam hen.

A: that is one small chicken in the back!

B: that is one ( I have to leave this area blank) big coon!

Glad you got him....

I fenced off part of the enclosure under the chicken coop for the four new chicks and their mom. They seem to be enjoying all the dry space, especially after the rain last night/this morning! When I was finished staring at the babies for 1/2 hour, I picked the black raspberries. I love picking berries after a nice, cleansing rain!

That was a lot of reading and it has only been a little over a day.
Sorry about all the attacks. Living in the middle of hell seems to have it's advantages with predators anyway.
We left for the 4th of July weekend and came back to lots of eggs. Chickens seemed happy to see us. They have grape vines to hide from the sun under all the way around my yard. They should love the grapes once they ripen.

Personally I will take a few predators over as many neighbors as you have. I can shoot my predators when they bother me, try that with your neighbors and someone is bound to get upset.

My DW just told me as she walked out to work that I'm annoying her and that I should drive off into the north woods for a few days and fish or something! So once I bring this dumb new cat to the vet, I'm getting out of dodge! gosh I love her sometimes.

I am amazed. My fluffy no feather pekins slept outside last night!! It was in the 40's!! I cant believe how cold hardy they r.
