Minnesota!

Here is a picture of Comet I just took while cleaning the coop...she does not like it when I'm not holding her! Even my grandma (who balks at the idea of holding a chicken)has to pick her up and pet her when she runs up to him. Theri you have wonderful birds! Ok back to cleaning the coop.

There is a little girl who got 3 pullets from me that she is using for therapy chickens. She has had epilepsy and has suffered her whole short life with seizures. Now that the doctors have been able to find where they are coming from and help lessen them, she wants to help bring comfort to others with her chickens. She is 9. SO, she got a Cochin, a Welsummer and a New Hampshire. All were spoiled in less than a week and the Cochin is the most social, people loving one from the sounds of things.

Minnie.. This is like Blanchranch. I so love to hear about people in need being helped by a simply animal. like a chicken..... Now we just need chicken friendly businesses..

I would love to take Ed to a good restaurant..

I got my broody turkey hen off her nest, She would not let me catch her and lock her in the cage. I hope just being locked out of her nest helps break her. She is all skin and bones, but can still out run big fat me...

I was cleaning my coop today and there's a lot of little guests in there- Mice nice mice! I've seen my Wyandottes kill chipmunks but they just sat there and watched as the mice are their food. I killed a couple but I saw eight different mice in total. Have any good solutions?

I use a bucket trap, but it only semi-works when there is feed around. They seem to like the feed better than the bait peanut butter. My Delaware is good with mice, but I have not seen here in about 10 days now. I am hoping she is on a nest somewhere, but it is hard to say...

I have some bucket traps that I'll have to put in there. Oh yeah I'm just really curious, about how many eggs do your creamettes lay?

I cannot be sure right now, as I have then running loose with my EE's and they all lay similar color eggs. They are not the worlds greatest layers but they are no bad either. Maybe 5 eggs a week once they got use to the coop. They are very skiddish though and were slow getting use to the new coop.

hmmmm. . . Ugh! I think I'm starting to give in to the idea of having a cremette or two in my coop!
