Minnesota!

Well for Mousies. I hate to say this because I've been lucky with him. But I'm sure I'm kept clean of mice by a weasel that visits once in a while. I've only seen him twice. He was little. Once he was white and in the winter, and then once brown last fall running across our drive down at the compost pile. Ever since I've seen him around...I don't have mice. Luckily the times I've had him nearby the birds have been away from the coop free ranging. Another reason to free range IMHO.

OR it's the buckeye and I don't see her taking care of business early in the morning on the coop floor. I have found a couple of dead mice on the coop floor though. But not many. She loves herself some meat that one....

I have natural born babies, almost....

My blue slate hen hatched a bunch of chicks, and brought them out today. I cannot tell how many for sure as she does not like me checking real close. Looks like 7.

She is going to be so disappointed when she finds out they are not turkeys. BUT I have to say they are cute with their Momma.

Aren't you the one that always says...."where's the pics?"

And my silkie that I was yipping about yesterday gave me an egg. She is my treasure today. First egg in 3-4 weeks.

I skipped chicken tv tonight to take my pups to the local dog park. Even though my fur-children are free ranging farm dogs they get a kick out of going to play in the lake and woods that is just outside the fenced dog area and watching all the penned up doggies get jealous :)

The down side is that I haven't trained them to ride in the back of the truck yet so it can be a bit of a messy ride home :)
