Minnesota!

Looks pretty fancy! I've seen those on wheel hoes before but not on a handle.

I learned a trick this summer to put down newspaper (not the shiny kind) several layers thick around the plants them mulch over that. It works really well so far. I have always mulched with grass clippings but weeds in my new garden scoff at the clippings and grow right through
It works like a charm!! I love it. Just a couple swipes and weed are gone. I could not believe it. I was looking at mulching with grass clippings but was afraid of what I might be putting it there so I opted not too. I was using the old feed bags between rows with some success. I am not a very good plant grower of any kind so I plan to spend my winter really learning on what the heck i am doing wrong.

Klop-My yard is over grown with something itchy/burns with purple flowers that grows about knee high and thick thick thick. I don't know what it is but it is everywhere. Literally. Then the chamomile is like ground cover. Insane. Of course the grass is so tall and thick I can stand in it and get lost. Fun times trying to reclaim land. I still am too scared to get those metal blades on your widow maker. I can't believe you haven't gotten injured yet!! You must lock up all your loved ones and animals before using that thing. I can't imagine what a rock would do from that thing. The neighbor 2 summers ago blew out my drivers side window on my suburban from across the road and yard with a regular whipper. What damage that could be done from yours!!

I ensure every person and animal are far away and I wear steel toe shoes and safety glasses. The packaging says to should work in a counterclockwise motion so if you do hit something it won't kick and carry the momentum. Nothing has been thrown or shot so far.

Believe it or not as long as the processed poultry is sold in Minnesota and under 1000 birds you do not have to have anything. However; we have our turkeys processed at a local USDA inspected processing facility as we have 200 to 300 turkeys done each year and that is a lot of work!! Not to mention the logistics of doing the processing and we do sell them out of state.

I haven't been able to get on for two days and there are 118 showing in my queue to read. Ain't gonna happen, folks. Our fair starts Tuesday and we have been getting rabbits and such ready and then there are those feather butts eating up my time. I did manage to sell 40 cockerels yesterday. That sure lightens the feed bill a bit!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and next week as I likely will not have time then to get on either. There will about 1200 more postings by then if I know how you all operate
