Has anyone tried this beer?

No I haven't. And I'd be concerned as to how it's brewed....just sayin' Is there some secret process they put it through to get the name..? Pass the coors light please.

Then I have Ernie, he is a very likable rooster and good with the girls too. Ed and him tolerate each other, and he throws some nice chicks. He is a BA, I got him from Hoover hatchery so he is the rare good hatchery rooster, but Minnie told me his tail is too high, I can live with that as I am not showing. I just like him and the looks of his "pure" babies. I am finding my BA's are my good mothers, besides I like the shiny black birds.

I love my BA. Do you have a picture of Ernie? I would love to see one. I'm not crazy about the single comb business....but that BA is so easy on my feed--she loves her grasses and foraging. And she is Perrrrrrty in the yard. I love her mild temperment as well.

I put in fairmindedness and open-ness in the post...and I read one that followed that tore down everything I said. I have a lot to learn and I let that percolate in my posts I hope. But why do people do that?

On worming I use the broad spectrum (gets all types of worms) that Minnie Mentions Safegaurd is cheaper. I have used Valbazen also. They say it's good to alternate. So use safegaurd for now ...but budget or plan for valbazen in your future...just to keep resistance at bay. I think there's some California BYCers with worming/parasite issues due to resistance.

When to worm. Well for me Summer break is a good time. The girls are off laying eggs due to the heat of summer and it's before molting season. I see the chickens thinning after foraging earthworms and such (hosts for intestinal worms) That tells me it's time. I don't like spring because that's the heat of the egg laying time. (I don't want to throw many out if I don't have to) and I don't like fall because of the molt. those wormers in the system will make weird wrinkly feathers that may not look the best or work the best for winter warmth. So for me it works best once a year in the summer. I could even consider once in the winter as well as that is a slow time for eggs again. I think too Spring and Fall is suggested to help with the worm cycle population in your ranging area...and keep those numbers down. I may be messing with that formulation and timing when I do it the way I do it.

I know what you mean! I guarantee that they would never say some of those things to your face.

So many people out there go right to the response "What I have read is...... and that is what I am going to do when I start raising chickens"
Or "I don't know but I think....."

Everyone just wants to get their own words in. I would hands down take advice from someone experienced over those kinds of people. That's why I ask it here and don't just go to google

Thanks KlopKlop. Even the experienced ones can be a bit brash. If you haven't already run into that.... One thing I'm learning about chickens is that I always will be learning. And it's humble business.

And what I'm learning about myself is "My way or the highway" gets no where with me. There's no "one" answer to most things.

I think I'm just being a big baby....

One of the three turkey eggs I saved from under my turkey that hatched chicks last week has hatched!
