Minnesota!

a fire started with a dousing of 50/1 outboard fuel of course

ROFL!!!

Seriously, the following is true.....

About 30 years ago maybe more. We went "north" to Orr and fished Pelican lake, I don't know if any of you remember when it had those HUGE sunnies in it.

It was my brother ( the one that is now a hoytie toyttie college professor)... and our very young family, we could not find any of the large sunfish, but we stumbled upon some GIANT bullheads.. the large yellow bellied ones of about 2 pounds each..

We caught 30-40 of them. My brother was making a scene in the boat even. He was not going to take those into the fish cleaning building. I told him I would carry them in, I said we will be heroes of the cleaning shack..

He did not believe me, and asked why. I told him almost every license plate in the campground was from Illinois or Iowa. I explained to him they love bullheads it is their walleye.... A most prized fish!

Well, I carried them in and flopped on the table and everyone in there was over looking at them, wanting to know where we got them, how deep they were and so forth.. My brother learned I was never wrong that day, Unfortunately he has forgotten that!

Which reminds me, beings we are being so honest here.. BC.. the reason I named my dog Reagan had nothing to do with it being a nice name...

My Brother has two girls they were 7 and 9 when I got Reagan. My brother refused to have a dog at that time. My Brother "Hated" President Reagan.. By my naming my dog Reagan, his daughters ran all over the house day in and out talking about how much they loved Reagan... I encouraged them to consider Reagan their dog too.....

LOL. Oh Cyrus. You and my hubby are from the same cut that is for sure. I'm always yipping at him for adding too much boy scout water to the wood. Makes the food taste "off" not to mention adding to the carcinogens.

Ovations Please!!!!! I think we get a daily dose of them or we get them back after somebody gives you some. Just sayin'. hahaha.

Bullhead fishing was a bust but the sweet little Sunnies were as big as our hands. It was fun.... We had beer coolers sitting in the rapids and kids were swimming in the current over dangerously large slippery boulders under a powerful waterfalls. Parents of the year.

Give me my GREEN THUMB BACK BYC!!!!!

Thank you Rhetts. I tried to give you an ovation for your compliment. I'll catch you again when I get them back. It was the only morning the canoe got used...but to get this capture was so great. She's becoming part of the family after these great camping trips with her.
I used to read my kids this book by an Author named Mary Casanova. I believe she's from Ely or up that way. It was called "One Dog Canoe" I read it over and over and the kids just loved it and totally Minnesota relatable. "Me and You in a One Dog Canoe." It's such a cute story too.

Might as well assure us a spot in the top ten..

Here is the CX's being released this morning... This is my answer to people that call them lazy not as good as feeding time but still fun to watch..
