Minnesota!

Morning Kloppers!

It seems like the kittens are really taming down.

Is a Cornish the same thing as a white rock?      I get  so confused over how many breeds and what all they are.

No those are two different breeds as far as I know. I think white Cornish and Plymouth rocks are crossed for the CX. Well specialized strains of the two I suppose....

Mine are dark Cornish and white laced red Cornish.

Uploading photos from my phone still doesn't work but here is a web photo of the WLR Cornish. They are really unique and beautiful

That's a beautiful bird!!

Where do you get bands with numbers on them, I never see them in the stores?

That isn't my bird, just a photo I linked from google images. The iPhone app for BYC has been glitchy since the iOS9 update. It won't allow photo uploads.

I imagine you can order them on eBay or Amazon if you looked. Like you, I've only ever seen colors at the store

To be honest without trying to brag I would say my WLR girls are even better looking that bird. They have more pattern to them.

The credit goes to MCM for that though. She is the one I got them from.

She has fantastic birds. The Cochins I got from her were unbelievable, it is such a shame they allowed themselves to be eaten by some nasty critter. I am going to be making more hoop coops and runs to keep the special birds in.

I have always admired the wlr Cornish. I can only imagine how pretty your girls are Klop!

I had white rocks last year and really liked them. They were good sized and great layers so I thought I would try the buff rock instead of the buff orpington. (the in laws rave on and on about the orpington) So far the buff rocks are comparable to the whites as far as growing well goes. Not laying yet so I can't speak for that yet. The barred are a little on the smaller side. All birds are Mcmurray's. I had ordered the silver penciled rocks too but I ended up with all males so they will go to camp when big enough.

I also splurged and ordered the blr wyandottes. At first I was afraid I had 6 males out of 6 but looks like I have 3 pullets and 3 cockerels. They are so pretty. I love it!

I was outside working for nearly 90 minutes!

Way too much for us old guys. I came in to make Brunch and have some more coffee. I looked out the window and saw this:

This is a meth boy tring to commit suicide. Had my wife been home he could be headless. Thursday is her day off, so he is lucky she went to town.

He was enjoying eating acorns off the deck.

Here is proof I made him get off the deck:

And here he is showing me how hard climbing down a stairs is:

Coffee1st, I would post your chicken photos and ask for help on the emergency illness thread or whatever it is called. They have been very helpful to me over there, my guess is they will know what it is.
Good advice. There are really helpful people over there. And pictures help a ton so they can see what you are talking about. Hope your girl is doing better today Coffee and you get things sorted out!!

Ralphie I love your turkey photos when you share them. Makes me want turkeys even more :) I would really like to raise them next year, but we will see. With house building in the future I don't want to over extend myself
