OK story about Camp Day and my son,,,

I Told him I needed his truck and told him I was going to someones house that invited me to Camp Day so I could learn and get some experience about chicken and he Freaked he said Mom haven't you ever watched the news or seen the TV movies don't you know there are creeps out there what happens if you get raped or murdered its probably a setup maybe they want to sacrifice you and using the chickens to lure you there? He had me give him Ralhpies name,address and telephone #. He told me if I got there and there were no other cars there i was to turn around and drive away. I was to call him when i pulled in the driveway and take a picture of the area and send it to him. I had to call him at least 2 times throughout the day and if I didn't he would come looking for me... LOL since when did he become the parent and I guess paybacks are a b$t$h since that sounds like what I use to do to him when he was a kid..Guess he was paying attention.. Love My Baby Boy.

I cooked my first rainbow (most likely a pullet) last night and was surprised to see the difference in breast and quarter size from our CXs. I should have fed them out a little bit longer based on what I see in Conrad and his rainbow harem.

It was fantastically delicious though. Makes me excited to see a rainbow over dark Cornish next year. And over a CX too. Betty white is very healthy looking and is actually one of the top girls in the flock now. She even stands up to buck when he is feeling frisky and she isn't into it haha

I can understand your excitement to try a cross with the CX's. Bert Junior is so huge and I keep picturing him gracing the table, but I resist removing his head for two reasons.

1) he is my future breeding season
2) I might wake some morning to find a plastic bag securely tightened around my neck

OK!! I got caught up for the most part. Had to do some real scan type reading. 105 posts in less than 24 hrs!! WTH? I can't keep up with that!

I think Ralphy is right and we should have an MN BYC party. He has plenty of out buildings. We just need to heat one. Maybe a white elephant party? He lives far enough away that I would rent a cheap hotel or make the DW drive. She doesn't drink. Good for me!

OMG, that jacket is funny. I will be going up there right before Thanksgiving. But if you are going up sooner I would love to get it sooner, Coffee!

Kloppers, don't you think they should give you some kind of rebate on that saw?? Computer and now special tools? **** them. If I get a new saw I will look for these things and try not to get them. Always wanted a Stihl.

What breed is Bert Jr? What happened to Sr.?

Bert Sr is the rooster on my avatar he was a CX. (broiler). He lived 11 months but got a bumblefoot that killed him. He fathered a few chicks though.

Bert Jr is a CX/Dixie Rainbow cross.

This is Junior. He was pure white as a baby as he matured the red came in. That is called Bleeding through. I learned that from Minnie. It was my fact for the day that week.

My poor ButterFluffin had another sedative today at Vet.. They pulled out drain tubes and took out stitches.. My $10,000.00 ,, 10 yr old ,, 3 legged, no teeth, almost blind baby But I still love him even though he just peed on my bed..
