Maybe we should all just sell our stuff and move in with @duluthralphie and build a permanent Minnesota version of the hippie gathering 'Burning Man'... it can be Freezing man. then we can take back his rightful land that has been turned wildlife reserve and grow all of our own food and have all of these crazy animals. If we all bring our flocks and coops, imagine the communal chicken flock we could have!
Who is in!?!?! anyone? Beuler? Beuler?????

we can invoke some kind of squatters rights and take it by force if we have to. based on the story you told that is what they did to your family, right?LOL... If I only had the room..... After paying my taxes today on the 13 acres I have left, I am not sure I could afford to have that land back, even though I dream of it daily.
I wish I had a problem with too many eggs. Mine have cut down so badly I may have to buy some to make a week in Togo. When I am up there alone I work on my Cholesterol levels. I have Bacon and Eggs 2-3 times a day with the occasional fried fish.
I have been feeding Game bird feed 22% for the last month instead of layer feed, They are still molting and not laying. Also I have no lights on for them, so I am kind of short on eggs.
I must be out of ovations so here is my thumbs up on this.I can understand your disinterest in selling them. We are fortunate to live in a depressed market so I can sell every egg i dont care to eat, but if you dont have a market i can see it being daunting and not worth it. You can feed hard boiled eggs to your feeder pigs. the protein is good for them. or so I have readI really want to try feeder pigs in the near future so i have read a ton. I want to try and form a relationship with the dairy farm down the road before i do to see if i can get any 'scrap milk' from them. ive heard that is a good way to get them the nutrients they need to make them meaty for cheap.
DW better be ready after we get the new house built, because all bets will be offKlopKlop is going full farmer!

Perhaps we each could section off parts to have our 'own' flocks (our special birds) and then one communal flock for meat and eggs. Was just thinking about chicken recipes.
Whose rooster would be in charge?
