There is something to be said for being the kid that never starts a fight but can discern when to finish it.
Bravo for sticking up for your kid.

My kids knew I would be the first to hold them accountable if they screwed up & the first to defend them if they were in the right. I also didn't tolerate lying, they would get a bigger punishment for lying then for what ever else they did. It behooved them to tell the truth. In the same vein, I was one that saw no reason not to say yes to things when possible, & if I said no, they could always come back with new information & we could discuss it further. I have frequently been voted M.O.M. (mean old mom) and proud of it.

Speaking of selling eggs, we are adding new stickers to our eggs for this week at the farmers market. trying to get a more permanent customer base to sell to this winter once the farmers market ends at the end of the month. I think it looks pretty slick besides our usual card we tape on.

I took some eggs down to the cities as a host gift. And did a little write up on the hens with pictures on a post card describing personalities, breed etc. just a personal touch about the beings in my care that provided those eggs. They LOVEd it. To see the girls that laid the eggs. I know you have many more birds than I but you could take some cute stories about favorite hens or Conrad. People gobble up that stuff. Makes them feel good about buying those eggs too.

I remember back when my hens laid eggs and I had egg customers. Now I just hope I have enough for myself. But I did get 8 today. 3 yesterday, but they all rolled off the counter unto the floor. There is much disagreement between the known proven peach thief and myself over who is to blame.

I know she knocked them off, they were setting pretty on the counter when I left them there.

Ok everyone, DH goes in for the important surgery tomorrow. I have spent the last week & change making sure everything is in place only to get a curve ball today. Doc had him going home after surgery, however he will need stretcher transport for 10 visits to HCMC after. It's only covered by insurance if it's from provider to provider and there isn't any reliable transport from here anyways. I was told that they will have to make the decisions with the social worker sometime after surgery & just "find" someplace for him. That's not what I wanted to hear. I get a bit uptight when he goes in as it is. We have had some pretty bad experiences. Pray no one gets hurt; I've been known to fire doctors & make nurses cry when faced with incompetence. Yes there was a reason I let nursing school, I'd tell doctors when they are killing people.

Ralphie. I'm lucky to get 1 a day. The BLRW went from every other day to every 3rd day. You don't know how hard it was to give those dozen eggs away as a host gift! Right now I'm looking in the fridge at 7 eggs! And this diet I'm on has me on eggs or protein for breakfast every morning for two weeks! I'll be buying eggs this weekend from somebody I'm sure. Dang it.
