Minnesota!

I am coming down with a cold/sore throat.

I am going to share with you my homopathetic (that is not a spelling error, I coined that word) cure.

I would suggest all of you make this and take it now, If I am getting a sore throat you could too.

It is made of three common ingredients everyone has in their home.

2 parts hot water, very hot.
2 part Yukon Jack Peppermint schnapps
1 part Hot Cinnamon liqueur

Drink liberal amounts until the sore throat is over.

uuuuuuggggggghhhh what a crazy week. ready to hit the farmers market tomorrow and get the heck out of town! last camping trip of the year down in the bluffs near rochester. should be really pretty with most of the trees just starting to turn color.

If you need anything and I can help just ask... im close enough to help...

As am I. Ask and I shall try to help. Maybe your Alpacas need petting  or something when I get back from Togo. I may delay going until Saturday now, this colder weather has impresses upon me the need to get ready for winter.

Aussiegal good luck to both of you on the surgery and the outcome!  You shall be in my thoughts and prayers.

You guys are great! Thank you, it really warms my heart with all the support from my Minnesota! Friends. Just an update; his hemoglobin was super low so surgery was postponed until next Fri. He's still in the hospital, though, to find where he sprung a leak.

Since it's the middle of the night and I'm awake I thought a Minnesota BYC ice breaker is in order. Putting a person behind the avatar?
Below are ten questions. Responses are optional, laughing at ourselves and each other mandatory.
(And Aussie needs something to make her smile!)

1. If I could binge on Netflix for an entire day I'd watch this show:Dr Who or anything good & nerdy
2. One place in the world from which I want to send a postcard: Morocco, or anyplace there is a geocache
3. You could chase me to Russia with this food: oysters
4. The daily chore which I dread: cleaning the kitty litter- and they aren't even my cats!
5. Fastest I've ever driven a motorized vehicle: don't really know, the speedometer didn't work, but my friend had to hit 110 to catch me. (79 Olds Delta 98, big stinkin' engine)
6. Tried my first alcoholic beverage at this age and thought adults were nuts to drink it: no clue, but if you ever want me to leave, hand me anything with JD.
7. First person I ever had a crush on, can be real or celebrity: not sure but I remembering having a crush on Kurt Russel
8. Favorite chicken breed: the ones with feathers
9. Do I have enough chickens? Is this a trick question?
10. One question we want to ask others here but are afraid of being laughed at:

You're right, humor is healing. I've been sharing with DH.

@holm25 I see your article on cattle and chickens made the BYC facebook feed! Awesome!

Ditto holm25.

I am going to be good about the contest.  BUT I think I know two people from our thread that should enter their Creamers!  What they have  is better than what I have,  My rooster has the tips frozen off his combs so he is out.

The points on a creamer is important from the ten minutes I spent on those threads.  They had huge fights over those points.

I wonder if they are going to allow Crested Cream legbars in the contest?

I don't know about Cream Legbars by I have handsome Creamer. I could label my picture Peruvian Coffee Creamer.

ok, just popping in because I had a hard time finding that rooster tonight. got home after dark, anxious as hell.
not in the coop. not under the coop. not bedded down in the sunporch for the chickens.
not in the first pine tree.
not in the second pine tree
not in the third, fourth, fifth, sixth pine tree.
still not in the coop, had to double check
not anywhere near the fenceline.
not in the garden.
not in the raspberry patch.
not in the bushes up by the house.
FOUND HIM! up on the roof of the coop. dragged the ladder out and climbed up and that sweetheart just watched me ( I had lanterns out by now).

best birthday present is that rooster safe in the coop. there had to be some kind of kerfuffle in the coop because there were some things knocked over and hens were definitely not in their normal roosting part.

I will be home before dark for the next 7 days, so we (the rooster, the girls, and most of all ME) won't have to go through that again.

And...I think I saw northern lights past the treeline so am bundling up and driving a mile to the open fields to see.

I tried to catch up on posts this morning then left for most of the day unexpectedly and come home to some 50 new posts!!
I just got caught up. Now I need to go back and find the ones I wanted to comment on.
Guess what we did today...............bought 50lb bags of apples (good ones too!) for $11 bucks a bag!!! The feed store gets left overs from the Bayfield Apple fest.
I will be processing apples for the next week for sure. Apple sauce, butter and pie filling. I am so excited! (Is that weird?)
Oh, by the way I did forward my latest pictures to the DNR without any return contact from him. I believe I now have "The Shot" needed to bring in the Feds to trap. (I hope

I got a friendly phone call today too. A neighbor of mine but maybe a mile away was going to go out and do her nightly chores last night when she noticed a wolf pacing back and forth in front of her barn. Thank goodness her animals were locked up!! Could it be the same one I got on my game camera? Who knows. But that makes me think twice about going out to feed Norman in the dark. Hers was about dusk and we go out at about 8pm LONG after dusk. From here on out it is me or DH, no kids, and we go out packing!

Glad you found him LaLa.

Ralphie I hope it's just a mild tickle of the throat that will go away with a little shut eye. Enjoy Togo tomorrow.

Made some soap tonight, smells awesome in the house. I have an order for cousins who want them for girl party and Christmas gifts. Kinda fun.

DS and DH are duck hunting in the Am with Sadie Mae. So will be early am for them. Momma will sleep in I think.
