I will try and get pics up soon. Im usually gone before sunrise and get back after dark
..to dark to rake any decent photos with my phone but I will see if I can get some pics up soon!
Congrats to them! My wife and I dated for 7.5 years too. We started dating our my Senior year of high school (Her sophomore) and dated through college. We waited until we were both out of school and situated at our jobs before talking marriage. Not because we weren't thinking about it, we obviously knew we would, but because the thought of getting married and planning a wedding while we were in school was unfathomable haha

My rumor sources tell me that @duluthralphie got a tap on the shoulder from Donald Trump to be his running mate in the upcoming election.

I don't think that Ralphie is off his rocker enough yet to be associated with that clown.

I spent my morning break reading some in the Meat Birds ETC forum section and got all huffy over people smack talking CXs saying they were nasty, would drop dead at 8 weeks and 1 day, and that they are genetically modified in science labs.  I tried to start a new thread and get up on my soapbox to start a thread of CX lovers and supporters but my browser locked up and kicked me out, losing the whole thing!  I guess that is just the universe telling me not to get all preachy ;)

Glad you are back in Minnesota, safe and sound.

Nice, weddings are such a great family time!

Congratulations!

You want to wait til after your first really hard frost. otherwise you will be skinning the birds because they are so full of pin feathers.
I am thinking he got a hard frost already, didn't you holm? We had one here for a couple of nights, enough to kill plants. But that is a good point I didn't think of when I commented, destiny.

Besides the CX bashers and the occasional 'I read this on the internet so that is the only way to do it' types, I find the meat birds area to be generally friendly and useful. Avoid the thread on the bresse chickens as those folks are cut from the same cloth as the Legbar folks

I'm glad that we all get along on here and I think we have many commonalities in our love for CHICKENS.

That being said I think we should try to keep politics off the thread.
Not everybody shares same viewpoints and thus the BYC rule.

That is a great idea! I am not particularly fond of them myself, but I am not fond of Polish either and some others love them. Whatever floats your boat, right? You should get some interesting input from people.
I have noticed over the course of raising different batches of CRX that some strains are calmer and easier to raise than others. The last batch I got from McMurray had me swearing them off. They were spastic. I was afraid they would break a leg or something because they were trying to fly up all the time and would get a couple feet off the floor and crash down. Plus, there were some really aggressive males and the consistency in size was huge.
I order from Stromberg's and they normally come up from Texas or New Mexico, and I like those strains very much for size and consistency and temperament.
This year's batch was from Hoover (ordered through Stromberg's) and they were calm, consistent in size, but they were smaller than the ones I get from down South, and you could see that right as chicks they started smaller.
You should set up that thread from your computer at home and get it rolling. You know at least one big guy who would join you in that venture. IF he ever shows up on here again!

My apologies. I meant that as a random sarcastic crack, not to promote political debates. I personally dislike politics and find the humankind as a whole unfit for wielding that kind of power.
