Minnesota!

Have you tried making a ramp? i know my girls wouldn't fly up to the roost if there was a fox in there with them... They use to huddle in the corner and every night i would go out there and pick them up and place them on the roost i was getting tired of it.. as soon as i put up a ramp they started using it...
We have a ramp leading up to it. It's not incredibly wide, but they use it. I never tried sticking them on the roosts at night. Maybe they need a little push. I can try it for a few nights. I'm going to put a small garbage can or something in that corner again to detour them.

You would probably be really happy with a poop board underneath your roost and your girls might feel more comfortable with having something underneath them they might think they are going to fall off at night until they get experience sleeping up on the 2 x 4's. Of course I'm not a chicken so I don't really know what they're thinking...

You all give me such good ideas for coop modifications!

Coffee, Rhetts, Klop, Holm, Bog!

( did I miss someone?)

My Jerseys will need a ramp. They are the last ones in the coop and by then all the good seats are taken. Then they huddle on the floor.

It may be their size as well.

about plastic, I have to wrap the quail run in plastic for the winter. I could use a tarp but that seems like it would make it so dark, like a cave.

what mil are you guys using? and, is it plastic dropcloth? or what?

kind of hate to go exploring at the hardward store because I'll find other stuff and spend money! so probably will order on amazon once i figure out what to get.

I'm enjoying seeing everyone's coop pics!

Definitely Minnesota fashion. Is there a his and hers? And will you model it ?

I will see if I can get a flattering shot, as you can imagine how hard that will be wearing such a hat. Maybe if I get a chicken in it??

I was organizing in my basement last night and going through some boxes i never even opened after the move. Mostly old memory type stuff. Photos and the like. It was a fun trip on memory lane
