Minnesota!

I did sneak a short break to help DW carve pumpkins too! this is the first year ever that we have grown pumpkins that actually made pumpkins :) not only did we get pumpkins but enough for DW to take a bunch to work for her residents to carve. We kept the 4 smallest ones for ourselves to carve and to save the seeds from for next year.

Also, earlier this week one of her residents had her daughter bring in a gift to give DW. it is the old egg scale they used on their farm! how cool is that! I'm not sure what it particularly weighs but it is neat! it has one lead weight on the end then a little weight that can flip to either side. perhaps the difference between large and medium or jumbo?

And last, Conrad was feeling photogenic today! he is such a handsome fella!

got leaves all done today,, well till more fall. I shredded them then tossed them all in the run.. I love my chicken coop run.. I got a couple of those chicken balls and im going to hang them instead of letting them roll around.
since it was cold out i quilted a couple rows together...

Coffee1st - love the quilt. I need to get into my sewing room and get moving on a quilt for my nephew's wedding in January, but I have too much to do outside first.

It has been a productive weekend for most of you! Good job. My son got Coffee's truck fixed today & Coffee helped me get my poop board up, yea! Also I almost got the new coop painted before I ran out of paint. Even went for a 3 mile walk. Thanks Coffee for posting the pictures, I'm not so good about it.

Get the driveway fixed, Ralphie. Did Judy get to drive the Bobcat? Welcome back, hope you got everything done that you wanted to get done.

KlopKlop, Conrad is gorgeous! I love the egg scale. I've never seen one before.

Not sure if I lost all my marbles yet. I had this wild hair idea to load eggs in the incubator already. Well this weekend yielded 9 bantam faverolles and 9 silkie chicks. At the time I thought it was a bright idea to do it and not battle with frozen eggs and the few eggs I get out of my silkies anyways. Glutton for punishment with chicks in the house all winter again. So much for waiting til after Christmas.

You should look up that scale, I bet it is worth some money, not that I would even suggest you would sell it, just saying'.....
Conrad is quite a handsome boy! Put him with those Cornish and you are going to have some good eating! And pea combs on the pullets if you were to keep any over winter.
You should try growing the Big Max pumpkins. They get really big and are very fun. I just made pumpkin butter this last week from some of ours. I can't wait to try the puree in a pie from this year's pumpkins since it is a new heirloom I tried and they looked awesome and smelled yummy. I am not a pumpkin nut, but these ones got me excited.

HOW LOVELY!!! I am jealous a little bit. I have been going to knitting on Monday nights with a group of ladies in town. I do enjoy that and can do it while watching TV or riding in the car (on that rare occasion I am not the driver). But I have lots of fabric and patterns waiting for me to do some quilting too.

So, Judy has a Bobcat to play with?? (cuss word, cuss word) I want a Bobcat to play with too!!!! DH won't get me one. But he did go and buy another green machine to hook our snowblower onto. It is a used JD Sabre just like the one we bought in 1999 when we moved here and have worked it to death. We need a drivable snowblower since that walk behind just doesn't cut it on those mornings or evenings you just need to get it done. It takes us a good hour or more to blow out with a couple of inches using the walk behind. It is handy for getting out around the chickens though ;)

You are certifiably nuts! Wait, I have chicks due on the 1st! Well, with the Silkies, I had to set them since I wasn't getting eggs when I wanted to hatch, had incubator troubles and ended up with too few. So, now, I may have a few more.
I guess we are in the same boat, but mine will NOT be in the house. I still have to clean out the brooder house and prep for next season, and hopefully will get that done before these ones get out there. With how my weeks have been going, it will be January and I still won't have that all done. DH wants me to make the cats a house so they don't get cold. I won't repeat the grumbling that was said under my breath today.

You know the song "Baby Got Back"?  Well, bantam roosters like big butts too!  I used to see my bantams going after the biggest hens in the yard and would laugh  my butt off.  I don't turn the bantams with the large fowl any more, so it has been a while since I have seen them chasing, then being chased by the big roosters.

I was laughing so hard watching a Bantam Cochin fighting with a big rooster, like an Australorp or Orpington, I can't remember that part.  The Cochin kept ducking and running between the bigger one's legs.  You could almost hear him saying, "What's wrong with ya?  Can't catch me?"  Like something out of a cartoon!

I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung, want to pull up tough
'Cause you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh baby, I want to get wit'cha
And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But with that butt you got makes (Me so horny)
Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-skin
You say you want to get in my Benz?
Well, use me, use me
'Cause you ain't that average groupie
I've seen her dancin'
To hell with romancin'
She's sweat, wet,
Got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette
I'm tired of magazines
Sayin' flat butts are the thing
Take the average black man and ask him that
She gotta pack much back
So, fellas (Yeah) Fellas (Yeah)
Has your girlfriend got the butt? (Hell yeah)
Tell 'em to shake it (Shake it) Shake it (Shake it)
Shake that healthy butt
Baby got back (L.A. fits with the Oakland booty

I am home!!

I would have been home yesterday, but they lowered the speed limit in downtown Togo from 50 to 40.  It took me an extra 12 hours to get through town. I needed to find a room for last night.

I will read things tomorrow, I am too tired tonight.

I am impressed with 60 pages and nearly 600 posts!

Bloody hell. Everyone thought you were having a torrid affair with a big hairy female up there. Hope she was worth it!
