Minnesota!

Getting it that far south could be quite a feat.  I was thinking South East, like Zumbrota. Which is about 1400 miles shy of your place.

Wait I was in more tornadoes in Minnesota than any where's else in my 30 odd years so I know y'all have the wind for it LOL it blew the truck stop down around me at Austin

Now offering classes in Political Correctness and BYC. These classes are available in Rednieckese and Minnesotan.

As an added incentive to new students, we will be allowing them to audit our previous class on proper alcohol consumption and trolling the internet. (this is not the same as being an internet troll) Coffee teaches that class along with basic web stalking.

I am a Certified Internet troll-er and Web Stalker i received my certificate at the Jerry Springer Academy, I did attend the Dr.Phil`s School of Advanced Stalking but was dismissed for ,,,well the reason does not really matter...I tend to like to leave gifts,Photos and Emails for my person of interest.. That is also where Ralphies Camp Day training came in handy... I highly recommend attending that course when its available..

I will also be attending the alcohol consumption class again,I feel like I did not receive enough training in that area i dont remember the 2nd half of that class,, unfortunately Raplhie does NOT offer free repeat courses...
Well it won't let me give you an ovation again so..

So I read this on another older thread, the person was from Massachusettes, so probably doesn't get as cold as here, but, if someone don't have electric in the coop, this might be a thought...

"I use a thing called a Snuggle Safe pet bed warmer. It's a disk you microwave and it's supposed to keep your pet's bed warm, but it's also the same size as my small (1 gal) waterer's base, so I nuke it in the morning, put it in the run with the water on it, and supposedly you get 8 hours of warmth. I imagine somewhat less when it's out in the elements, but it's been working for 2 years for me. I don't put water in the coop, just the run, and I don't have electricity out there, which is how I came to this plan. I was going to try a solar-powered lamp in the cookie tin heater type thing, but my electronics skills aren't that fancy. The Snuggle Safe is $27ish online, depending on where you look.

I also add a little more ACV than usual to the water to lower the freezing point."

from amazon:

Product Description

Allow your pet to snuggle up with up to 10 hours of safe, soothing warmth with the Pet Supply Imports SnuggleSafe Heating Pad. The plate-size pad contains no electric wires to worry about. Just place the SnuggleSafe inside your microwave, select Full Power, and set the timer according to how many watts your microwave pumps out. See the included chart for watts and times. When the microwave has finished, leave the SnuggleSafe inside for another minute. The non-toxic thermapol compound inside the pad retains heat for up to 10 hours. Do not exceed the recommended heating times. Overheating can damage the SnuggleSafe and may cause injury. Do not allow pets to bite or chew it. Ideal for newborn, convalescing and elderly pets.

Sorry to hear that, it sucks!

Welcome

So here is my idea. Using the upside down T in the picture, made out of 6" pvc pipe. I will wrap it in the heat cable pictured, then cover that with insulation. I will put the horizontal water nipples on the lower cross section. I figure this should hold 6-7 gallons of water as well. Worst case I add a aquarium heater or bird bath heater to it as well.
