oh happy day! went out at dawn, did the chickie chickie call while walking around looking for evidence, and out from the woods comes running and half flying the missing Jenny! wet, bedraggled, but unharmed. I'll take a closer look later this morning to check for puncture wounds in case a hawk carried her off, but judging from the lack of missing feathers I odn't think thats a problem. she hasn't molted yet.

the woods she came from are not where my flock has ever ever wandered, as it is past the meadow.

I'm sure I annoyed all the hunters with my calling not to mention cries of jubilation, but....

She was contemplating about whether she wanted to go broody or not. I bet the chill in the air made her think "Not!"

I barely got the new Turkey roosting coop started and the dang building inspectors came to look over the project, even sat on the top of the ladder and watched us work.

Them building inspectors can be a pita but be sure you listen to them or you might have to tear it down and start over.

The good thing was they sent three to inspect and they could not decide what I should do next.,

We had the dance fund raiser today. It went well, but even though we made $375, I don't know as it was worth it, really. Once you break it down to how much was spent, the time to do it and all that, then it is split 20 ways, it doesn't come out to be much. Still, it was a fun thing to do, I suppose. I am shocked how many people just bought stuff instead of making it. Even if someone isn't a good baker, Rice Krispies treats are not difficult and probably would have sold well. If we do it next year, I think we charge more and we know what items did the best to do again and what really didn't go all that well.

I got home just in time to grab a snack and go get chores done before it got dark. I know the next two or three day I will be out from sun up to sundown and trying to take advantage of the nice days were a supposed to have this week. Rabbits all need cleaning before it get too much colder and before we get the next litters in a couple of weeks.

With that, I shall retire for the night. You all have a good Sunday, and I hope the sun is shining all over our fine state for all to enjoy.
