Minnesota!

I found something on the web that says it can last 10 days if, and it is a big big if, it is immediately chilled to near freezing at butchering time, and is kept in a very cold frig, again near 30 degrees, and it is not transported in a car without refrigeration.

Blanch might have to decide that it is ok to freeze it or move up friendsgiving day.

The time of freindsgiving is set. I am just asking for my own knowledge. how can I claim to know everything if I do not know this?

I think transporting packed in ice for an hour would not harm it in anyway.

yeah, packed in ice would do it.

funny, we are having a friendsgiving on sunday too. and then turkey day on thanksgiving day. so cooking two turkeys the same week, stuffing, etc.

I'm a little behind....a new grandbaby will do that. I haven't seen her for 24 hours! but am heading down to mpls for the afternoon.

have to cook the pumpkins up for the pies. make the pie crusts. the relish. oh yeah, clean the house!

Ralphie is Turkey Camp day on Wens for me also or are we doing mine on different day? hope I didnt miss something.. Or is it just practice day with Blanch and his turkey so mine will be perfected... :)
and i will pretend not to have seen your post about NOT knowing something that way i can go on thinking you know EVERYTHING...

I have to do a lot of that stuff too.

I have Grandpa daycare on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. I will be so glad when my kid gets back home.

But I love being with him so often.

My DW has to work right up to Thanksgiving. So I will be forced to do some of the preparations.

Well I didnt get anything deer hunting. I tried to brain a spike buck at about 150 yards but missed. Its hard to shoot something in the head when you are shaking so much. This morning I could have shot a doe but didnt and my mom and sis had a doe and her fawn but bumped the stand and they ran!! But I'm going hunting on thursday.
