Must be something in the air, mine were crazy tonight at roost time as well! I had to stay and supervise!

I had one that had sour crop last fall. I was able to clear it up, but not before she lost alot of weight, and then went into a molt... @lalaland it was due to hay. I put it in the run, within a week she had sour crop. I took it out of the run. put wood chips in instead. this winter i'm trying leaves.
I've used hay for more than a decade and love it. But for some reason, these girls were just snarfing it up. I think they were a little deprived of stimulation in their past home - but if any get sour crop, I'll be turning to you and minniechickmama for help because I've never had a hen with it before.

bet you can't wait!
Just came back from my coop as well. Told six of my roosters to enjoy their last night.

They just make me smile. Makes me wonder how I was without them.
Scandia, are you going to butcher them yourself? And I forget, are you keeping any?

I'll butcher them myself. We'll have three roosters left, Gockel ( Alpha), Rascal ( BO) and Napoleon ( Banty Cochin and overall romantic dude).

Next year I'll get my Jersey hatching eggs !
