Minnesota!

Does anyone on this thread grow houseplant? I have a nice collection and I am about ready to trim back and propagate some of them. I have lots of clones of the same plants so I am wondering if anyone is interested in trading cuttings/propogations? I have Spider plants (Chlorophytum comosum) Golden Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) A petite Philodendron, Asparagus Fern, Dracaenca, and Schefflera
Interested in adding new plants to add to my collection and would gladly get my cuttings rooted and into dirt for you if you are interested in trading something.

klopklop, I don't need more house plants, but would gladly give you a christmas cactus (blooms before thanksgiving) and a cutting from a crown of thorns if you like

Slow posting around here. No Coffee1st. Where is the whole group? Haven't seen them posting at all.
Hi All,,, ive been SUPER busy,, having some exciting things going on around here,, making some big changes,, dont want to give it away just yet incase it doesnt work out BUT my fingers are xx`ed.. and NOPE not a grandbaby,,not yet anyways,,LOL....

My somewhat creative gift for my family is a calendar with photos of my chickens and chicken riddles. It was fun deciding which photos to use and picking out riddles that were kid-safe. Waiting until now earned me a 50% off sale at Shutterfly :)

great idea, and as soon as I am done posting, I'm off to shutterfly! you know, a new baby granddaughter......
I've been busy getting ready for Christmas. I made my dad's gift this past weekend and am still trying to put finishing touches on that, plus making food for my office party which is today, and trying to get the house ready because all of my family is coming up on Christmas Eve. I did finally get a tree and got the house decorated on Sunday. The house has just been a disaster with all the projects going on, but hopefully I'll get a good start on cleaning it this afternoon. I'm going to leave work as soon as our party is over today and won't come back until next week.
yeah, but what did you make your dad?

So DW was feeling a little Scroogey after devoting so much effort to decorating the nursing home and having to handle all the Christmas planning at her nursing home. She had mentioned early this year that she has always wanted a real Christmas tree. We haven't done any decorating at home yet and weren't really planning to. Well here it comes! KlopKlop saves Christmas!!

I stopped in at lowes for some supplies and they had some real trees left. And I snagged one and she loves it!!

And it doubles down right here... Look what kind of bargain skills I have

A buck????? A buck for a real tree? If only I had read this while I was in the cities, I would have gone running to see if a lowe's there had buck trees. Geesh. A tree would be great for cover for the quails....
I really really want a tree but in my tiny house that just doesnt work. I have a small iron tree that I hang vintage pink or silver ornaments on with some of my grandmothers glass garland, but the past few years with these cats, I haven't been able to do that either.

Love my cats, but one of the troubles is there is only one tiny 28 inch counter in my house that is cat safe, and the top of one bookshelf. No where to put stuff they shouldn't get into which includes plants, flowers, bread, butter, etc. they can get on the kitchen island, and everywhere else. dang cats.

ack! now my mind is going crazy thinking of all the possibilities....glad it sounds like the changes are happy ones!

this is a crown of thorns. It is a succulunt, I think, has big thorns, and small red flowers. I've had the one I have for about a year and it needs repotting and I could take a cutting. Mine was from a cutting I got at a plant sale.

When I was a kid, my mom used to get me up before dark on saturdays in the summer to go down to st paul's farmers market. After the market, we went up the hill to an italian neighborhood, and this little italian bakery would just be opening up. Hot yummy bread. They had a storefront window facing south, and it had a crown of thorns that took up the whole window. Probably 8 feet tall, and 6 feet wide? that's my kid memory anyway. It was gorgeous and so alien to anything I had ever seen.

We would buy bread, and go home -the car smelling like basil, and the bread would still be warm, and we would eat it with butter with minced/mashed fresh garlic mixed in the butter. pure heaven.

So when I came across this plant cutting, I had to have it.

I'm guessing it has a catholic derived name....no idea what the latin name is!
