Miracle- Hello! guinea/chicken crossbreed

Oh Mena, I am so sad for you and Miracle. The loss of Rascal really hit me hard. Having a friend that stays with you through the day and the roost at night is a friend that will be sorely missed.

We are so careful with our Guinea friends. They just do not understand that a moving vehicle is soooo very dangerous for them.

Have better days you two.

I'm so glad you had a good day. That's nice to hear after such terrible news last time.

Miracle, you're growing each and every day. You're also getting prettier each day.
Thank you for keeping us updated, I love hearing about you.

I hope you have a lovely day today!

So sorry about Rascal and glad to hear that at least one of the dogs won't be back I hate people who dump their animals in the country it is just plain mean to the animals. I hope Miracle has better days.

Miracle--You look like you'll be a good auntie. Don't let Chickenchicken hog all the baby-time!

Most likely this can't be done, the hybrids are sterile, supposedly.

I don't think I could get another "miracle" if I tried. Miracle is just a miracle and I just appreciate every day.

This thread is becoming a way of life for me! (And a lot of other BYCers, too!) Thank you so much, Mena, for sharing Miracle's stories with us, even the sad ones! Best wishes for more good days!

Hello from Miracle,

I get on the roost every evening early with my chicken family. It is funny sometimes to watch what the others do while I am sitting up high. When it was time for Chicken Chicken to put her keets to bed she decided it would be nice to sleep in one of the nest boxes instead of the cardboard box on the floor. The straw was nice and fresh in the nest boxes and I think Chicken Chicken was missing how cozy they are. The hard part was getting all 10 of her babies to get up there with her. Most of them can fly but Little Toot can't. Little Toot hatched out a couple of weeks later than the rest and doesn't even have wing feathers yet. Three of the keets flew up and got in the box with their mama but the others decided to climb the ladder and help Little Toot. They all got stuck behind the wire on the top of the nest boxes and couldn't get out. Mena came in ,saw what was happening, and helped the keets get down. Then the whole family decided that the cardboard box on the floor looked pretty good after all. Little Toot was so glad because climbing that high is really hard for a bird with no wing feathers.

It is lightning outside tonight. I like it because I can see all the birds on the roost with me every time it lights up.

Goodbye for now
