I was at the feed store asking them to order blu cote for me and the poultry guy over heard my conversation. He said to hang mirrors in the coop to keep the hens busy and it will prevent pecking.. has anyone heard this?

I've never heard of it, but one possible reason for pecking is boredom. I don't see any reason not to do it. It might help.

great boredom breakers: cheerios, cabbage, pasta in interesting shapes (might just be worms, ya know... my girls like spaghetti and elbow, but don't trust the other shapes....

I put things like buckets in their run, and rocks and logs and shiny chain. Its all something for them to jump on and pick at other then each other. Its like a kids jungle gym, keeps the girls entertained.
