Miscalculated worming dosage - can I worm again?

Hi all.

Well, this is embarrassing. I wormed my girls earlier this month with Safegard. I used the .023 ml per pound ratio. The problem is, I weighed my chickens in kilograms So I dosed them all around 2 lbs. (I was wondering how I didn’t know I’d had bantam hens all these years, haha!). Anyway, they’re basically all about 5 lbs, so I’d like to reworm them. Anyone have ideas as to when it’s safe to do so? I wormed them over 5 days 2/8-2/12. I was thinking a month just to be safe.

They did. I wormed them initially after seeing worms wiggling around in their stool. I want to be sure they're gone.

If they were the large roundworms, then you I'd say you did just fine since there is a low dose version of safeguard just for the large roundworm that is less than what you gave. So I wouldn't de-worm again just because you dosed by that much.

Just as a sidenote, I'd doubt the roundworms will ever be totally gone so I'd be looking for them again in the future.
