Miscellaneous Meeps - Hatching my Dreams

Isn't he a cutie!?! I've probably said it on here 10 times, but I want to put this chocolate boy over a black Ameraucana and try to hatch a chocolate EE 😁 I have these cute visions of a puffy cheeked chocolate pullet with fuzzy feet 🤩

Chocolate male x black female makes sexlinks, too, where male offspring are black carrying chocolate and female offspring are outwardly chocolate. ;)

Yes! It's going to he so awesome!

Hey Pipd, Debbie and I have a mystery, I've either mislabeled an egg, or chonkers hatched out a gorgeous blue chick... 🤣 do you see any genetic combo from Chonkers thay could produce a blue chick with a BA, BR, or RIR?

Shamelessly downloading and sharing @Debbie292d photos... hi Debbie! Lol.

The black one is Chonkers too.

Interesting, that does look very convincingly blue 🤔 I think that's going to have to be another wait and see baby, but the most likely explanation is an egg mix-up, as Chonkers should not be able to produce blue with any of the breeds you listed.
That was my thought, I could 100% believe this is a Fizz Bang chick and coming from a brown egg it means the mother was a Barred Rock, so no dot on the head and as long as no barring sprouts, this would be a pullet right!?!

Yeah, if the mother is barred and the father is not, then male chicks would have head spots and female chicks would not. Sometimes with blues the head spot blends in a bit so it's hard to tell, but that baby has a pretty dark head and pretty clearly does not have the barring head spot. 🙂
I think I'm going with, this is a Fizzy chick, from a Barred Rock, therefore it is a pullet and has a 50% chance of laying a blue/green egg.

Whatever it is, it's a really pretty blue color!
