Hello All! Back in February, my friend was on his way home when the lady down the road stopped him and asked him if that was his gray chicken in the tree. He thought, "Silly old lady, there's no such thing as a gray chicken" and went on his way. Turns out, there really was a gray chicken in the tree, and she hadn't gotten down in three days. He managed to catch her and bring her to me, because he didn't know of anyone in the neighborhood that was keeping chickens. He named her Miss Digby Chicken Caesar (hey, he deserved the honor because she was really hard to catch).

Her eyes are black, her legs are willow. She lays pale blue eggs. I am guessing she's an EE or Ameracauna.

Miss Digby in her new coop, outside for the first time in months.

She is missing parts of her outer toes. I think she had a hard life before she came to me. She lived in our spare bedroom for three months before we put her in a coop near the main one so she could see her potential new friends.

Miss Digby didn't lay eggs until she decided my rooster would make a good boyfriend. This is her first egg. It's more blue than the photo shows.

Here's a close-up of her pretty face.

Thank you, everyone. Yeah, the photo does no justice to the actual color of the eggs she lays. They're pretty. She's the favorite of my Faverolles rooster, so I guess her babies will be olive eggers?

I had never seen a bird this color before. There is some black mixed in, and there appears to be the lightest of lacing. She's a wonderful addition to the coop.

Thank you again. I really appreciate the input and compliments.
