So this might be an odd question but I'm brand new to chickens and I had a chick (4 weeks) with an upper respiratory problem so I started her on the 1/10 of tylan 50 2x a day. On the third day she looked better and seemed to be all good so I stopped for day four but the nextnext one of her eyes were irritated again And her breathing was slightly deeper (but not as bad as before).
So I guess my question is can I start get antibiotics again after stopping? And for how long?
Thanks

I would restart the tylan and give it for 5 more days. You can also get Terramycin eye ointment to apply a small dot into the eye twice a day. If you cannot find it by asking a clerk at your feed store, then use plain neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment.

So I grabbed the eye ointment when I went to town Monday, she's on day 3 of the eye ointment and 5 of the tylan 50. Her breathing does seem to be better but I'm curious how soon I should see improvements in her eye. It looks so uncomfortable :(

Do you have a before picture of this eye?
Has it improved any?
