Missing chickens

Earlier today one of my hens went missing, where i live i dont deal with any predators so i dont know how my hen just disappeared the chicken coop and the run are too tall for them to fly over so im really comfused on how she disappeared this happened like 2 months ago with 2 other hens. Are people robbing my chickens or are they somehow just running away?

I have called her and looked all around my backyard.

If your run isn’t covered, how tall is it? Some chickens are escape artists.
Go look around under bushes and up in nearby trees.

The run is like 6 feet tall the only thing over the wall are alleys roads and houses, i looked down the street and didnt find her.

Some like to “go visit”.
I’d hate to think you have a creepy neighbor stealing your chickens but it wouldn’t be the first time ...

I’d be walking up and down the alley looking in other peoples yards.



if you find her you’d better think of a way to cover your run or trim the flight feathers ( Not 100% effective)

I’d hate to think you have a creepy neighbor stealing your chickens but it wouldn’t be the first time ...

The neighbors next to my house dont but like a block away one person does. While walking down the street you can see the coop so i dont know of someone walking at night or driving by decided to stop and “take a look”.

I dont have a lock but im going to get one just in case. I am also very confused and angry at the same time i used to have 7 now im down to 4 mature hens.

People definitely steal chickens, especially if you can see your chickens from a public road. If I were you I’d put locks with keys or a number lock on all openings to the run/coop and set up a trail cam immediately. They’re not too expensive and it’s a useful thing to have around.
Some chickens are escape artists, but to have multiple vanish without a trace sounds like someone’s grabbing yours.
