The only snakes around here are garter and they are quite small. I'm guessing coon. Pretty funny though.
We have quite using yard lights all night so our one little man doesn't feel the need to crow at all hours. It probably would be better to leave them on as it 'might' deter predators.

lol what is your "little man's" name??? We call ours Rooster Roo. that is a good idea with the lights good luck with the eggs.

OH MY GOSH!!!! Last night we had another black rat snake in the chicken coop!!! He was only a little guy. Probably aleast 4 ft. Luckily none of ou chickens were harmed.
