- I have a speckled Sussex that is born April 1st, I think it is turning out to be a roo. It seemed like overnight a square patch on the back of his neck is bald the skin does not seem red or irritated. I don't think anyone had a fight, could this be molting already? I didn't see a bunch of feathers anywhere inside our out of the coop. All 7 other chickens are fine. I did just start adding de into there dust bath bin of dirt.
