Crowing
They all free range and the neighbors spoil them more then I do with sunflower seeds! She is the most likely to get broody of all of my hens I just wish I could find her so I could pop my newly hatched chicks under her.Are your chickens shut in or do they roam free ?
Usually if a predator has been the other chickens tend to be a bit traumatised, will hide under trees, go into the coop early and act extra vigilant. Unless they didn't see it happen ( does she hang out alone or with the others? ). A bird doesn't leave a mess so if she was caught a hawk is very likely.
I reckon she has probably gone broody if there are no signs indicating a predator, a year old isn't too young, it's the right time of year and finding a broody hen can be difficult! They always find the most discreet of places! Try having a really good look for her in every corner, hedge, leaves etc. and hang around outside when you feed the others, she will come to eat and drink if she is broody, you just have to be patient.
Good luck!
The other chickens are fine and unlike Salt and Pepper she does stick with the flock unless she’s laying an egg or there’s food envoled
