missing peachick

So my baby got out of the brooder somehow last night, s/he's about three weeks old and I can't find him anywhere.... I don't hear her either... there's a very very small chance she got outside, I've checked every nook and cranny high and low in the house...
does anybody have any advice for finding him? I even tried to play momma peahen sounds because I thought I heard him crying in the bush outside down by our pond but I think it was another bird just messing with my head.

. Do you have any dogs or cats that might have eaten them? Mine instinctively respond to a "REET REET" sound and will follow me when I make it. If it did make it outside, it wouldn't travel far during the night and even during the day I would think it would stay close by at that young age. Go around your house and property making that sound, hopefully you will find it. Keep us posted!

It is hiding it may bee a while before it comes out or makes any noise.
You don't have nothing in the house that coulda got it right?

Check the closets real good, i have had them get into sheads here when the door was left open and it was 2 days before i heard them in there, and i had already looked in the shed once missing them, so double check everything.

You don't have any clothes laying around on the floor do you? Describe the area that you had the brooder? What's in there?

it's my back room, there is a large kiddy pool with raised sides, there are closets and a pile of laundry nearby, a poo was sitting on top of the laundry so I am assuming it got out and sat in there for a bit. I checked closets and laundry, there is one vent that somebody took the cover off of that I found so I am scared it got down that, I couldn't look in it directly but I put on a headlamp and used a mirror to look down as far as I could. we have a manufactured home that isn't very big but she could be anywhere inside. I put down a waterer in case she comes back because I don't want her to get dehydrated. I guess all I can do is keep tearing apart the house and praying she shows up.

as for cats and dogs, there are a couple cats that prowl outside but have yet to get inside (or even show interest in coming inside, they are scared of people I think they are feral).

My own experience with peachicks is that they NEVER stop that sad peeping if they're away from mom or mom substitute.
I'm guessing that listening for the little guy is going to be your best bet.
Maybe, turn off all of the things in your house that make noise, like they refrigerator (mine's incredibly loud!).
Then just sit very still and listen...

Hey, I have an idea. This is what I would do but you may not be able to do this. I would go online to You Tube and perhaps get some recordings of baby chicks (peas, chickens, etc.) and continue to play it over and over and over as often as you can. Maybe the pea will hear this and come out of hiding. Just a thought. I'll try to think of some other stuff.

I would definitely check that vent.

that's what I did, throughout the house and outside as well. I watched a video one time with a momma pea calling for her baby and it got my babies attention so I was hoping it'd coax him out of hiding. hasn't worked yet

I'm listening now, I took the ducks and chickens outside (the pea grew up with them) hoping their sounds would get its attention... so far no luck, no pip pips either
