MISSOURI ! ! !

Sorry to hear about your hawk troubles. We've been seeing them around here too and have been keeping the girls in their run more. I know the hawks are hungry, but would rather they find their dinner somewhere else. Good luck.

Try a bottle rocket. It works better than a shotgun blast cause it goes off up where they are. It sends starling flocks away for a couple days too.
So far, a couple of Penedesenca roosters have protected two of my flocks pretty well. I had a hawk getting braver and braver till it finally made its move. I didn't see the beginning cause I was in the brooder house but I believe the roo kicked the crap out of him. He was staggering inside the pen when I came outside.

I am north of KC about an hour near Oregon MO, I keep a mix of chickens for brown eggs that I sell to pay for my hobby lol, the layers are Barred Rock, Rhode Island Red, Black Sex Link, Buff Orpington

I also have a few barnyard mix chicks and 3 Black Copper Marans chicks

My latest project is Coturnix quail and im addicted lol

Anyone around that wants to get some good hatching eggs for brown layers or wants some Coturnix eggs for hatching or food let me know, and I am always looking for Black Copper Marans hatching eggs or any kind of eggs that are "different", I want a mix of different birds so PM me if you want to swap eggs or talk birds

Fenton here! I live in a subdivision and have about 10 banties. I keep a roo in the garage. I keep true araucana bantams. Anyone out there breed araucana bantams? Don

I just moved here a couple months ago.

Had to rehome my birds while renting for a while.
