I laughed when I read your message.... I too live in Jeff City and I ALSO went to Orschelns today and was tempted... but not by ducks! Some other poor addict must've been there after you but before me. I was tempted by the 10 or so Rhode Island Red leftovers, but they were straight run and I already have way too many cockerels so it was sorta easy to resist. I did buy multiple bags of feed though, so that I can try to not go there again for a while because I think they are getting chick shipments every Wednesday till the end of April. I just need to stay away, cause if I go in there and see fluffy pullets of any breed other than Cornish X, I will buy them just like hitting a crack pipe! Also, I am real afraid of seeing a batch of the "Bantam Assortments" they get every week. All those fuzzy feet might put me over the edge. We won't have a coop built for another month or two(chicks are in various spots like sheds, dog kennels, etc) so I'm telling myself to wait to get any more till next spring, then I can get crazy.
Here is my crew. The 6wk-old Dominiques got to go outside today:
The "Golden Girls" (A Buff Orphington and 2 RIRs) in their dog kennel brooder-- I think one of the girls is developing a very unladylike comb.
