Misspelling

"Illinoise." My teeth are shorter than they used to be, because of this. Missouri is next to Illinoise so I hear this a lot. Back in Colorado, Sister Mary Elephant pounded into our little skulls that it is pronounced IllinOY, the S is silent, so I assumed that people who actually lived in the neighborhood would know that. Apparently not.

Yes, I know. My point was that it bugs me when people pronounce the state as if it does. Perhaps I should have put the word in quotes. Like so: "Illi-NOISE." Lol. In fact it should probably be pronounced "Ill-uh- NWAH." I've always wanted to ask a French-speaking person about that ...

I kinda figured you did that on purpose, hence the hiding under the chair emoticon so hopfully you knew I was ribbing you.
It's kind of the same with Arkansas... I've heard people pronounce it Ark-kan- zas......noooooooo....
