My neighbor called and asked if I could help him build a bator for his kids. No problem right, WRONG. When I get there I am looking for the starting material in his shop. The only thing I see is a BIG GE side by side refrigerator. That's it the kids yell. The kids say they can incubate on the one side and hatch on the other. Now I have to figure out how man trays it will take and all the things I hoped to forget.
Well, MissPrissy, What are your thoughts? At times like this I have to bow to the best.
Why didn't I just buy them a bator when they asked their dad for one? Or give them one of mine. No, what do I tell them, it is more fun to build one.
I know what I will be doing this summer.
Help from anyone will be gladly taken. It is a 25 cubic foot, side by side refrigerator/freezer.
Updates as this project progresses.

Miss Prissy has been out sick and not on BYC for a while. If it was me I think I would use two wafer thermostats for each side. Maybe put three trays on each side. I don't know how you wil cut an observation window. It might be easier to bult a side by side unit out of wood.

I would set each side of the fridge to work independent of the other. Use the wafer thermostats. I have seen lights in the bottom and the top for heat as well as other types of heating elements. I am wondering since heat rises if the lights in the bottom are a better idea? With heat lights at the top the bottom will naturally be cooler. Also you'll need a fan to circulate the air. Give it a whirl. It should hold temps like a charm since the fridge is insulated.

Jody and Charlie have a large fridge -bator (I think). Ask WildsofPa for some advise on how theirs is set up.

Yeah!! Miss Prissy is back!! Hope you are feeling better!
