MissPrissy's Summer Day Camp

I trust my goats are clean and healthy. We drink her milk after I strain it. For cheese and yogurt and such you have to heat it and that pasturizes it. Some people pasturize their drinking milk. It really is a prefernce as to what you decide to do.

I'll handle the herb growing and soap making sessions! i need someone to teach me how to make cheese... so sign me up!

ps - the funny thing is... i live at summer camp!

OK--yes, I am being annoying--my goats are healthy, wormed, good weights, etc, do you test them for anything specific prior to milking. I am getting a bit excited about this!

sorry, i should start my own thread.

No. I don't test my goats. I haven't had any need to test them. They were clean and in good health when I got them. I had a vet look them over and she said they were in great shape and I had fed them out well. There was no reason to suspect anything was wrong with them. If it ain't broke don't fix it. believe me, if something is wrong you'll know it.

Tiffany, what do you need to know about goat milking? It really isn't all the odd or hard. It just takes practice and your hand will get very strong.

Ok, Miss Prissy. Sign me up for Crochet, Canning and Food Preservation, but especially Chicken Dispatching 101. I have never dispatched anything, despite all my dire threats. The ONLY thing that makes me think I could do it is that thread you posted about processing your packing peanuts. I was totally shocked at how not-grossed-out that I was. It was so very educational.

And I have a tent.
