Mistreated chicken emergency

I am trying to rescue a single hen from a family friend who bought two rabbits and was also given the hen, the rabbits have done some damage to the feathers on the poor thing as they have been eating (or pulling) them. I haven’t seen the hen yet, I am just hoping they’d give her to me.

Until you get the hen in hand so you can evaluate her, it's all speculation.

Once you get her, check her over well for lice/mites, injury, etc.
Have a place ready for her that is spacious, but away from your existing flock.

Once you have her - then post some photos, etc.

Actually I haven’t seen her but my father and brother saw her few days and told me about her but it’s true I haven’t seen her myself in person. If I am able to get her I’ll ask my local breeder to come help me check for signs of illness and other things that I might miss since I haven’t done this before

Having someone look her over sounds like a great idea!
