Mites…?

Hi, so I’m fairly new to chicken-keeping and I got a silkie a few days ago and recently discovered she has some reddish microscopic dot-like bug things..? Any idea what could those be and if they’re dangerous? Also how to possibly get rid of them? Thanks for all the help!

Sounds like mites to me. You could dust her with poultry or seven dust (basically the same thing) and be sure to clean out and treat whatever pen you have for her too.

This is why one should always have a quarantine pen for new hens brought into a flock. Make sure that wild birds or their droppings can't get into the coop as well. No use dealing with the infestation if you don't stop the cause of the infestation.
