I have been using Ivermectin pour-on to combat Northern fowl mites, at the rate I read on the BYC website, and been perplexed about no results with roundworming, since I know they have them.
The dose I read was ONE drop for bantam hen, Two drops for bantam rooster. Mine are OEGB pullets and hens; very small-- about one pound. After I bathed my hens, and sprayed the coop, I used the Ivomec again, but tried TWO drops this time.
TAH-DAH! This morning I picked up four droppings (7 birds) wriggling with roundworms.
I suggest one drop isn't enough, because I had used this dosage several times with no results, even though I would find the occasional dropping with roundworms in it, unrelated to Ivomec administration days.

Anybody had same or differing results?

You should try wazine for the round worms if you're not having success with ivermectin. Not sure about the dosage for ivermec...I would caution you to stay on the safe side with that though as it's intended for cows..could be easy to overdose if not careful.

Ivermectin pour on has been overused in chickens primarily as a miteacide. It's primary purpose is a wormer, not a miteacide, it is a secondary benefit of the product. Because of its overuse as a miteacide in chickens, worms have built resistance against the product. Ivomec products will not kill cecal, capillary, tapeworms and now large roundworms. It's still effective against mites, however sevin dust is much cheaper and effective. I quit using ivomec products and use valbazen and safeguard to worm birds, both are very safe and very effective wormers.
